Fics like Burn and Desist

The prince’s affection for the knight was clear as day and Joshua admonished himself for feeling hurt by it. To start with, it was ridiculous to hope that he has a chance with him after all those years without communication. It was a fleeting fantasy, the leftover affection for the boy he knew twelve years ago fueled by the information, songs, and adoration that he heard from other people. He would get over it, he comforted himself. As the Phoenix, Joshua was used to fire coursing through his veins. He was meant to burn as the Warden of Fire, as the ruler of life and death. But to burn as a weapon or as a healer is one thing, to burn with desire is another. And he must desist.
