The spot in the living room smells. That’s the biggest thing. The house always smells, always has, always will, but the wet spot smells the worst. It smells like meat left out on the counter. The same meat that may or may not still be on the counter and may or may not have a beautiful family of blowflies with beautiful blowfly children living on the inside of it, eating away at it until it’s a graying mass of matter and decay, a pork loin on sale at ShopRite for $8.97 two weeks ago. They were supposed to get rid of it. No one has. But they were supposed to and that’s what counts. It’s the thought that counts.
