Fics like Conquest, Defanged

An alternate universe of Cassette Beasts where Aleph Null's defeat doesn't kill Aleph. After saving the connected cosmos, Cass stalls their return to their homeworld. When Aleph suddenly reappears, gravely injured from his defeat, everyone agrees it would feel wrong to slaughter him when he is already so weakened and powerless, and so Cass takes it upon themselves to chaperone him and keep him in check. Left with nothing but free time and ghosts from his past, Aleph will ultimately have to confront the fact that his legacy is as broken and empty as the worlds he left dead in his wake.
