Ever since Tommy’s mother went missing when he was eleven, he’d felt lost. His father couldn’t look at him the same, much less his brother. He was the spitting image of his mum, and his family couldn’t seem to take it. They sent him to live in a boarding school in New York. It’s not too bad, Tommy has friends here, and his father promised he could come home during Winter. But, unsurprisingly, everyone is going to see their families. Everyone except for Tommy. He's stuck doing laundry in an a abandoned laundry matt under his school when he finds a secret passage to a world thousands of miles below New York. A world full of giant talking bats, rats, and roaches. And an abnormally pale race of humans with purple eyes and strange accents. Tommy is keen to leave and get back home, especially when these people insist that he is the destined warrior in some old prophecy that they've all been waiting for. That is until he finds out that this prophecy could be the key to finding out what happened to his mother and bringing her home. or, a rewrite of gregor the overlander with crimeboys as the main focus <3
