Fics like the language of love

Mehrak has this habit of opening Kaveh’s door when it’s not fully closed, nosing her way into his office and then leaping onto his lap to snuggle her head into his stomach. So he’s not entirely unsurprised when he hears the door creak open, slow and deliberate the way his cat always does it, and he doesn’t even look up to check that it’s her before he speaks. “Not right now, solnyshko,” he calls distractedly, too focused on his current sketch. There’s silence, as there usually is since Mehrak can’t actually respond to him. Then, “Don’t be so vulgar, senior.” Kaveh accidentally calls Al-Haitham a pet name in a different language, and then he keeps doing it. It's too bad he forgets that Al-Haitham is fluent in all of them.
