“Ohhhh!! Is this the boyfriend who’s always traveling for work that we never get to meet?!” “Uhh,” Jimin says. “I, uh—” “Hey, I’m Jungkook Jeon, nice to meet you.” Jungkook extends a hand towards Jimin’s coworker. “Finally!! Jimin’s been gatekeeping you! I thought Jimin said your name was Matt, though.” Jungkook’s charming smile doesn’t slip off his face at all. “Ah, that’s my coffee order name.” ---- Jimin just wants a simple life. After a busy 12-hour shift as a nurse, all he wants is to go home, binge food shows, and then pass out until he has to do it again tomorrow. But on his first day of work, faced with his coworkers’ questions about his love life and offers to find him just the right alpha, he made a huge mistake — he made up a long-term boyfriend, who’s sadly always too busy to go to events. Now Jimin is confronted with his wholly self-made nightmare when he and his latest hookup run into a coworker at the bar. She assumes that his hookup is the elusive boyfriend who they’ve never met — and Jungkook seems to thoroughly enjoy stepping into his new role.
