Fics like Swirling Colors
He scoured every inch of his body for weeks after his twelfth birthday. Every pale, freckled inch was scrutinized under a flashlight, anything he couldn’t see on his own was looked at with a hand mirror. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. This couldn’t be happening! He couldn’t have another thing wrong with him! He just couldn’t, not any more. He couldn’t give them all more ammunition against him. This couldn’t be happening… Even if he was just a late bloomer and would get it within the year, that would still be too long of a time without it. “Izuku, darling…” Inko called gently from where she was peeking into her son’s room. If he didn’t have a soulmate or his mark that came with them… If he didn’t have those swirling colors that would symbolize his soulmate and one day, by a soulmate’s touch, turn into an image that symbolized their quirk, the very essence of what made that person them… Why was he like this? Why couldn’t he just be normal?
