Fics like a champion's path

All things considered, Ash's tentative position as the Alolan Champion is fairly unique. A brand new league, with no established requirements, and a final exhibition match sanctioned by the gods of the region themselves. A foreign champion, chosen by the land. A champion in name, but with no backing beyond his own region. Well. Time to change that. Or: A look inside an AU where Ash decides to spend more time in Alola establishing the league, and how that changes his journey. Continued from the oneshot with the same name in "Welcome to the Madhouse: An AO3 GANG Anipoké Collection".
