Fics like Bad Moon

"All stories come from some'ere. They hold a fraction o' truth. The Ghost may no' be real. But after hearing all the stories, be'er t' air on the side o' caution, aye? So as no' t' get caught unawares by a giant monster in the middle o' the moor." That made sense. The stories of monsters in the woods, over the moors, or in the lochs may be just to scare children and give the adults something to pass the time. But his father was right, better to assume it is real, and be respectful of it. After all, if there was such a thing as a giant beast covered in fur, that howls in the night and hunts over the land, capable of tearing animals to pieces and leave gouges in hard wood, John imagined it wouldn't appreciate being told it's just a folktale.
