Fics like A Pincushion View

She tried not to watch Sir on the cameras. It was mesmerizing waiting to catch him at something nefarious. It was even more mesmerizing just to see him reading quietly and taking up so little space in the already tiny nook she’d given him. He was the collapse of her childhood home, the last 21 years of her struggle to sleep deeply, and also able to curl up small enough to leave half of a twin mattress unoccupied. She had to remember he was taller than her, far stronger, and hubris was a warning he had taught her himself. Trigger Warning: Canon typical discussion of kidnapping, and a hint of Sir's childhood circumstances. Mild spoilers up to 1x09, because I think we could all assume his relationship with his mother wasn't good.
