Fics like These Streets are Yours (You Can Keep Them)

(Companion Piece to another fic, but works just fine as a standalone) Jack and the Doctor find themselves in a dead-end alleyway after chasing a runaway alien together. The Doctor is fed up with Jack's violent nature, and Jack is fed up with the Doctor's arrogant pacifism. How do they resolve the tension? In one universe, it happens over pasta. This isn't that universe, though, so they resolve the tension in a way the Doctor hasn't in a long, long time. Should they be tracking down the alien that just eluded them? probably- but they've got time. When he tries to pull Jack’s trousers down, he’s met with equivalent upward pull. “Sorry.” Jack says, a bit sheepish, “Somehow the suspenders don’t usually get in the way.” The Doctor grabs the offending item with one hand “Off,” he says, patience wearing thin. Title from a Bastille lyric (working title: AU where the Doctor has a penis- this time it's plot relevant)
