Jamie loves team parties. He loves basking in the raucous laughter, the giddiness where everything seems funny and like a reason to sling an arm around a teammate’s shoulder. He loves knowing that for a few hours, at least, he won’t have to go back to his empty fucking flat and its sparse fridge and the unmade bed he’ll eventually crawl into. He loves knowing that for a few hours, at least these days, he’ll be surrounded by people who properly fucking care about him. Who won’t slap him around the cheek at the slightest slip-up. Jamie loves team parties. And also: Jamie hates them.
