Fics like The Journal of Tyson Zielinski

Tyson Zielenski was a construction worker living in central Riverside, Kentucky. One morning, he woke to a vague tv news broadcast about a disease sweeping the state. Stepping outside, he found that the world had properly gone to hell in the time it had taken him to recover from a stomach sickness. Some disease has spread like wildfire and turned people into mindless husks hell bent on eating the living. Fleeing Riverside in a dead friend's car with a little food and a few weapons, he finds a remote manor and fights to clear the dead from it- then tries to figure out what he's going to do now that he appears to be the last man left in Kentucky.
