Sometimes Jisung will say things like that, separating them into two; Jisung and Minho. Twin circles in the dirt that never cross. Minho understands, though he wishes it were different. “Like, I don’t know,” Jisung mumbles, looking down at where his toe pushes pine needles around in the dirt. “You’re powerful and wealthy and beautiful,” the final word comes as a whisper. Minho’s heart picks up without permission, without him expecting it. “I’m just a man, Jisung. You may not be as wealthy as me, but you’re powerful in your own right, and just as beautiful, if not more.” Minho can feel blood rush to his face, painting him in shades of his innermost thoughts. This fickle thing. Casual compliments, red cheeks. Minho doesn’t know what he’s doing, but he likes it. (OR: A burdened king, a pretty stable boy, the weight of expectation, and the sacrifice of love.)
