Fics like Empathy, Kindness, and Something Else

Seeing Alastor like this – just two big, red, doe eyes poking out from underneath a blanket nest – made Lucifer’s heart ache. And in that moment, there was nothing Lucifer wanted more than to hold him. “Don’t pity me,” Alastor threatened from beneath the blanket. “Don’t you dare.” “It’s not pity,” Lucifer said, because it wasn’t. “It’s…” It wasn’t pity, no… But what was it? “Empathy.” Yes, that was part of it. “Empathy and kindness,” he added, but that still wasn’t everything. * Lucifer takes a closer look at his feelings for Alastor, and comes to a realization. Lilith and Lucifer have a heart to heart about their marriage and where Alastor might fit within it. Lucifer’s POV of Chapters 3 and 4 in Bloodlust and Butterflies.
