Fics like Something New

“It’s not that funny!” Adam clutches his sides, and Adora can practically see his diaphragm shaking. “Oh my gods, ‘Dor, it really, really is.” The conversation had started out well enough. Adora had mentioned she was going to bring a girl to his wedding if he was okay with it. Adam had said of course it was okay, and then for some reason mentioned how proud he was of her for figuring herself out. Adora quickly clarified that she was not, in fact, gay, and that’s when the laughing had started. -OR- Adora loves her family. She really does. But they can be a little homophobic at times. So Adora comes up with the perfect plan: she's going to bring a woman to her brother's wedding. And who better than Catra, from her rugby team? After all, Catra is... basically perfect. If Adora were into women, it would totally make sense that she'd be into Catra. She's just an ally, obviously, but like... even Adora knows Catra would be a great girlfriend. This prank is going to be perfect.
