Fics like Yusuke finds a very smooth rock

“We need to talk about this. And I don’t just mean you leaving” --Ren raises a hand, cutting off Akechi before he can finish opening his mouth-- “I mean everything.” “It’s pointless. I’ve already told you as much.” Akechi rolls his eyes and digs a crumpled lens rag out of his pocket. “After I’m gone, none of those things will matter anymore. If you think that your usual brand of brainless sentimentality will work on me, then--” Just then, as Akechi unfurls the glasses cleaning rag, something clatters to the ground between them. Their heads turn to follow the sound in unison, and both discover the source at the same time -- an incredibly smooth, thumb-sized rock. They raise their eyes again, steel gray meeting dark auburn. Akechi’s Adam’s apple bobs under the collar of his turtleneck. “...Please let me explain.” Sometimes, if a rock is smooth enough, it can drag a man out of hiding and force him into a secret shared custody agreement with the guy he's hiding from -- and what Yusuke doesn't know can't hurt him.
