Sakura hasn’t seen Naruto in months when she greets him at Konoha’s gate. He waves goodbye to the Suna jonin escorting him and turns to Sakura with a blinding smile. He has changed, became a little softer, his hair longer. Like this, he is the Yondaime’s son. Though much more subdued, he still wears his trademark orange, likely the consequence of the anbu missions Kakashi gave him. Yet none of these changes explain the swing Naruto carries comfortably, as if he’s done it a hundred times before, or the child sleeping soundly in it. Or, after the war, Naruto returns to Konoha with a child.
