Fics like Lost in the Memories (Stay With Me)

“I like what I do,” Namjoon adds. “I feel like I make a difference and I can help make things safer for the rangers and better for everyone. But… I really wanted to do what you do, Yoongi-ssi.” Yoongi feels himself stiffen, hands curling into fists. “Did,” he grits out. “What?” “Did,” Yoongi repeats. “What I did.” When Namjoon next speaks, his voice is soft. “You - you don’t want to pilot anymore.” -OR- Yoongi remembers the night the world exploded, when everything he loved tumbled into the sea and he was left with the wreckage. Months later, at a new base and finally starting to heal, Yoongi is struggling to face the reality of the situation. The push for him to pilot, to get back into a jaeger, is coming from all sides; the Marshall, the doctors, even the physical therapist who makes his life hell. But Yoongi’s never been able to drift with anyone else. And he doesn’t want to try.
