Fics like if atlas falls (I'll rise and carry us anyway)

Percy usually showered late at night or very early in the morning and he always emerged already fully dressed. Paul hadn’t realized that it wasn’t just a habit of his, but rather a curtesy Percy extended to them. And now here they were, Paul standing in the hallway opposed to a shirtless Percy. The words on his lips died and he couldn’t help but stare, frozen in shock. Percy was positively covered in scars. He was turning pink, arms crossed in front of his chest, bicep flexing. He was muscled top to bottom, Paul realized and in the same breath finally understood why he’d resisted the offer to join the swim-team at his high-school despite him having good chances of becoming captain. Numbly, he came to the realization that he never connected the Percy from those stories with the Percy that regularly ate at his dinner table. or: Paul is a good stepfather and being a child soldier leaves marks DAY 27: SCARS
