Fics like A Heist of the Heart

“It’s been a while since I’ve been able to talk to you. I.. I just want to spend time with you.” Despite Mushitarou’s truthful response, Yokomizo barely looked up, still intently focused on his text. Even his satisfaction with his writing was evident by the quiet humming he started doing- something Mushitarou always seemed to pick up. A twinge of jealousy knotted Mushitarou’s heart, so suddenly aware of where Yokomizo’s priorities stood. There’d never been a literary reason he’d hated mystery novels. In fact, if it weren’t for Yokomizo, it would've been possible that he would’ve enjoyed them. But, it seemed as if his hatred of such literature stemmed from his jealousy of the subject- the fact that he’d never stood a chance to be Yokomizo’s truest priority. He remembered (not so) fondly attempting to toy with the books Yokomizo read, just so that maybe, just maybe, he had a chance to be paid attention to by the man he so desperately desired.
