Fics like Burning Flames or Paradise

Passion. Curiosity. Hubris. What if Hiccup Haddock had always been a gifted fighter? After all, years in the forge can do so much to one's strength and physique. Being known as one of the best warriors on Berk, Astrid Hofferson couldn't help but feel threatened as he stood in the way of her pursuit for honor. What grew between the two was a rivalry; their feelings burning up over the years they had known one another threatening either of them to burst into flames. But what happens in the midst of tensions between tribes in the archipelago, when the whole worldview of these two dragon killers begins to collapse? (Takes place when Hiccup and Astrid are 20 years old, their age in HTTYD 2) A "what-if" scenario and canon rewrite of Hiccup becoming dragon killing rivals with Astrid from the start, until the elusive Night Fury's eventual return to attack Berk.
