What should have been a routine call turns into a life-threatening situation for Casey, Kidd, and Herrmann. In the aftermath, Casey and Severide have to face unintended revelations. This story is set somewhere around early season 6 under the following conditions: Casey and Dawson never got together again after she walked out on him when she was on Truck 81 in season 3. Casey has never been an alderman, because Severide never talked him into something he didn’t want. Kidd and Severide have never been romantically involved. He helped her get out of her abusive relationship with Grant though.
