Fics like I buried a hatchet, It's coming up lavender

If the sound of her bedroom window sliding open hadn’t woken Gina up, the footsteps creeping towards her bed definitely would have. As Gina’s eyes open wide, she’s faced with her alarm clock, it’s 2am. Gina’s eyes scrunch up and she momentarily freezes… “Ricky?”, she whispers into the void of her pitch-black room. “… Yeah.” He answers back quietly and Gina sighs in relief, finally sitting up in her bed. “Jesus… you can’t sneak up on me like that.” Her eyes begin adjusting to the darkness and she can now just about make out her boyfriend’s features. Faintly, she hears Ricky kick off his shoes. “I’m sorry…” This time she hears his voice crack. - Where Ricky gets some troubling news and goes to his safe place (Gina, of course).
