Fics like If the world was ending (you'd come over, right?)

"Kids," Burnet started, the room spinning horribly in her vision. "What is going on?" "Professor?" Mallow asked, concerned. "Are you feeling alright?" Recognition dawned in her eyes all of a sudden. "Ash didn't tell you." It wasn't a question. Kiawe buried his face in his arms. Lillie gently guided her and Kai to sit down, and Lani almost burst out in hysterical laughter at the absurdity of it all. These were children. "After the first incident with Nihilego, Ash had given us a code that was essentially a call to regroup at your house, seperate from our Aura guardian duties" Gladion started. "He called Brock this morning to 'call code', so to speak." He took a deep breath in, and Burnet felt like she was drowning. "I don't think that we're gonna be the last to show up," Lillie had said, softly. ●●● Or; Fate has always been the cruelest to Ash, but also the kindest. For every world-ending event, his friends (his siblings, his family, his home,) were there for the frantic adrenaline and quiet aftermaths. It was fitting that they were all gathering after everything to put up one last fight.
