Fics like The road not taken looks real good now

King Wilhelm of Sweden has a wife, three kids, a stressful job and an increasingly forgetful mother. But a chance encounter with a face from his past leads him to reassess everything he thought he held important. ‘The next recipient is Mr. Simon Eriksson.’ Wilhelm drew a sharp breath. How funny that the medallist should be called that, should have the same name as… He looked up as the man walked towards him. All the blood left his head as he realised that of course he had the same name because he was the same person. Twenty-two years older, obviously, but there was no mistaking that hair, those eyes.
