Fics like I Keep a Close Watch On This Heart of Mine

You were supposed to be helping your best friend find her missing sister. On a trip to find clues regarding Maria’s disappearance, fate takes a dark turn when you and your friends are thrust from the cramped comfort of your RV, and into a harrowing fight for survival as you all fall victim to the Sawyer family. As you navigate through the horrors of their nightmarish world, an unlikely bond forms between you and Johnny, the youngest of the family. ‘Natural born killer’ is how you described him, but the description grows weaker each day spent at the murder house, putting together the puzzle pieces that make up Johnny’s past. Love and danger entwine as you wrestle with your feelings for your best friend’s boyfriend, Leland, and the forbidden connection blossoming with Johnny, forcing your heart into a complex love triangle that defies reason. “And despite all the pain I’ve endured during this traumatic period of my life, love was worst pain life could’ve given me.”
