Fics like Be Contrite, O Selfish Heart

He laid there awkwardly, half upright on his elbow and a question already forming on his lips when he felt Aziraphale’s hand come to rest against the side of his head. He was too stunned to resist the gentle pressure that guided his head down, the angle forcing him to relax his arms and lay flat against the couch as his head came to rest against the angel’s thigh. “There now,” Aziraphale murmured softly above him, never removing his hand from Crowley’s head. “That’s better, wouldn’t you say? Actually–” The angel shifted minutely and Crowley braced his limbs to push upright-but Aziraphale hushed him gently, applying a touch more pressure against his skull. “No no, dear boy, you stay right where you are… lift your head just a touch, if you would?” Crowley did as he was told, rolling his head upwards and resting his weight on his shoulder just long enough for Aziraphale to slide a pillow under his ear and guide him carefully back down. He lay there for several minutes, feeling every inch of tension in his frame as he waited for it to stop, for Aziraphale to tell him to get up, to become tired of this, and of his neediness, his selfishness… but he didn’t.
