Fics like Lately I'm Not Dreaming

“I’m working on this beautiful painting,” Taehyung explains. “But someone tried to fix up some chipped spots and they clearly didn’t have any experience. It’s a very intricate piece, all these tiny flowers, lots of tiny spots of color. None of what they used matches.” “Did they ruin the painting?” “I don’t think so,” Taehyung says. He shakes his head, looking thoughtful. “I don’t think anything is ever really ruined. It might not be the same as it was originally, but it can be fixed and restored. And it will still be well loved by the people who care.” Ruined. A harsh word, like broken, useless, crushed. Yoongi often feels that way, all of these ways. And yet… Maybe he could be restored, in some way. Even if it’s not the same as before, maybe there could still be something worthwhile… -OR- After an accident takes everything he loved, Yoongi finds that, maybe, with the promise of spring and new beginnings, there is more to be gained than lost. Kim Taehyung’s smile blooms sweeter than the cherry blossoms in the park, and starting over might not be so daunting.
