Fics like If dreams can't come true, then why not pretend?

"Shit," Legend says, with a "Watch where you're fucking standing," already on the tip of his tongue; as soon as he turns to see whoever he bumped into, his words dissipate from his mouth. Like a dream. He pinches himself. He, quite honestly, cannot tell if he feels it. "Oh," she whispers, and smiles a little hesitantly. "Link?" "Marin?" he asks. Marin nods. And her face breaks into a grin, and she crashes into him for a hug, and he can't do anything but return it and stare off into space and sway a little. She cries, soft, "Oh, oh Windfish, I thought I'd never see you again!" He might be crying, too. He buries his face in her shoulder to hide it. She smells like the ocean. When the Chain is portalled into Warriors' era, Legend reunites with an old friend. He then has several crises, writes some letters, and learns how to trust reality.
