Fics like Always 1895

"Some may think that men like us, men who have never existed, could never die. That is not true. Death comes for us just as it does for any born man, though it may not be as permanent a death. I feel, even in the most joyous of days, that one day I and Sherlock Holmes will be parted by circumstances inexplicable within our world. We too dream of apocalypses." Watson knows two things: he, and everything around him, is fictional, and everything has an end. But perhaps in one of these things he is sorely mistaken. (Written for Edward Hardwicke's birthday)
