Fics like Home at Last

She’s going to have to leave. She should probably stop spending as much time with Pony as she has been. The other woman had been distressed when she’d gone missing— Nami hates to imagine how she’d react if she left the valley for good. It’s already bad enough that she’s come to care for Lou and Tei the way she has. It was like an invisible string tied beneath her ribcage acted on her when she’d tried to leave before, pulling her back to them. And then Pony had shown up, searching for her as well. She’d felt the string tighten, then. It scared her. She doesn’t know how to be close to Pony, or Lou, or any of them. She’s never been good at this sort of thing, hadn’t been raised that way. It’s better if she slips away quietly— that way nobody is disappointed. She can at least pretend they aren’t, if she doesn’t have to see it for herself. As her last year in Forgotten Valley winds to a close, Nami becomes acquainted with Pony.
