Fics like promise for eternity

“You’re crying.” Ronno blurted it out so he could hear himself say it, to believe that what he was seeing was something real and not substantial. Bambi crying had never been so painfully real until now. The response to that new feeling was one of quick reaction—Ronno ran to Bambi and tucked his head under his snout so he wouldn’t fall to the ground like Bambi’s legs wanted him to. Another sob came from Bambi’s clenched teeth and Ronno wanted to know. He wanted to know why the extreme happiness had turned into raw sadness in a matter of nothing, like lightning scorching a living flower. He wanted to know why the cosmos wanted Ronno to witness a whole new side of the smiling Bambi.
