Fics like peckish

The same routine repeats at supper the next day, and Tess is with him this time, frowning slightly as Ellie pushes her corn chowder away and reaches to be picked up. Tess obliges, but she slides the bowl over and takes up a spoonful, bringing it to Ellie’s mouth. “What’s up, bug?” She asks when Ellie presses her lips together tightly and turns her face away. “You love chowder.” It’s true. She usually ends up mooching off of him, Tess, and Tommy, making a rotation of the table with her mouth open like a baby bird. Her flatly refusing more after three bites is wildly unprecedented. And wildly concerning. (in jackson, ellie's appetite seems to disappear out of nowhere)
