Fics like What's the kindest way to say the end?

Jason takes his journal with him when he leaves and then it’s Tim who’s shaking. His book had been a constant in his life and now it was gone. He feared what Jason could do with it, with the vulnerabilities that were shared on those yellowing pages. Two weeks later, Tim unlocks his apartment to find Jason sitting on his couch again, the book in his hand. Slowly, he opens it to find the last 71 pages laminated. He can’t fill them. Worse, they are already filled. He reads the first paragraph, full of praise and love and so much care and his sight begins to blur. Tears well up as he stares at his once-glorified suicide note. The last page, he notes, is empty. He cannot fill it. It’s also laminated. He cannot kill himself now. He can’t. The book falls to the floor. Jason opens his arms. Tim practically stumbles into them and sobs into Jason’s shirt. It feels like catharsis. It feels right. He feels loved. or: Tim uses a book to write out all the mistakes he's ever committed, all his failures. He has a plan for when the book is finished. Jason stops him from doing something he would regret.
