Fics like Fall's Peace

“I got your letter. So tell me all about this new project that you enjoy working on.” Mario probed and I took a deep breath and smiled nervously placing my fork down. “OK, I know this is going to sound insane, but I believe I found a way for peace to be possible between the Koopa Kingdom and the Mushroom Kingdom.” He looked a little surprised at that, but more like he had been expecting me to say something else. “I believe you.” “You do?” He smiled, but it was a little uncomfortable. “I do. Because…. Luigi.… I-I saw you with Bowser in his courtyard.” Mario elaborated. Ah, that’s why he was making an uncomfortable face, but he did say that he believed me. “You… Did?” “Yes. Did he hurt you?” He tested, the protective brother side of him coming through. “No.” I didn’t need to even think about that, Bowser had not hurt me. “Were you safe?”
