Fics like The Light Behind Your Eyes

An awfully vague mission description causes Nero and Dante to be gravely underprepared for a fight. Instead of facing off against some weak lesser demons, they are greeted by a strange type of Angelo that even Dante wasn't sure existed. When the demon outsmarts them, Nero is prepared to protect Dante at any cost. Even if the cost is his own life. He's not exactly thrilled when Vergil is the one to show up at the last second to turn the tide and allow them to escape. _ Or: Nero takes the bullet for Dante and Vergil saves the day and finally tries to be a good father - with mild success.
