Fics like Beyond Devotion

The monster-human war from ancient times takes quite a different turn, and results in a primary group of humans who revere the monsters as gods. For their brethren's sins, the humans were to build great homes upon a great mountain for each monster and present a slain sacrifice every 50 years. It's modern day, and although the killing sacrifices has long since stopped, it seems the skeleton monsters that reign over your particular village have requested for a live sacrifice to walk up the mountain... and as the priest's child, its your duty to answer their demands.
