Fics like feel the rain on your skin (no one else can feel it for you)

“Awesome! Northern Pine doesn’t get a lot of out of state students. Where are you from?” And Nico knows there’s no getting out of this one alive. Will’s casual kindness is deceiving: he’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. “Columbia.” Will lets out a low whistle. “Ivy League, huh? What brings you here?” Nico’s gut sours. Will maintains his chill. “Everyone says that,” Nico says, voice barely containing bitterness. Will’s casualness cracks. “Oh, I’m sorry?” And the fact that he phrases the apology as a question stabs Nico in every part of his body, blinding him. “I don’t want to be at Northern Pine either.” Nico stands. “Really, it’s fine.” Nico, pre-law Columbia University drop out, transfers to Northern Pine College, his hometown’s local community college across the country, after a mental health crisis. Cue high school peers, self-enlightenment, pretentiousness, Chobani yogurts, an early twenties life crisis, a life-sized cardboard cut-out of Harry Styles, and, worst of all, improv club (though he is being very brave about it).
