Fics like The Fledgling

In the middle of the courtyard, crushing the green grass under its weight, was a stone tomb, covered in chains. Taking Claudia by the arm, Armand pulled her back, ignoring the indigent glare she gave him, before closing the short distance between himself and the coffin. He circled the stone, tracing his hand over the old, rough surface as his eyes followed the rusted chains. He glanced down at the lock where a folded paper was tucked beneath the oil-stained metal. He plucked the paper and unfolded it, scanning over the words before reading them aloud to the others. “We have made a grave mistake,” Armand said. “We are not able to care for this fledgling. He will ruin us all,” Armand tore the note in half and tossed it over his shoulder. - Daniel Molloy is a vampire left in the care of the New Orleans coven where he finds a misshapen family, a love unlike any other, and the hidden darkness inside.
