Fics like there's strangers everywhere
He supposed it was his fault he didn’t understand the very Aeon his homeworld worshipped well enough. The Reignbow Arbiter was never particularly known for being merciful, or granting wishes. Or perhaps, if Yanqing perceived things from a different angle, Lan did grant his wish in a sense. They were only about a decade too late, when Yanqing had began to become convinced his mother wasn't ever coming back or they had already left this world. And his mother in actuality, for one, was nothing at all what his child self would expect. - Yanqing's relationship with his mother, who has been absent all his life yet has finally returned, is awkward at best. (Or, a young man finally gets a glimpse of what his child self has spent many nights dreaming and praying to his Aeon for.)
