Fics like The Islander

The civil war that has been raging for the last seventy years has left the country in shambles. Where once was one army that protected the nation, there are now thirty splintered fractions fighting both to protect their land as well as push for dominance to as champions rule the nation and create a temporary semblance of peace. Among those, the Warriors of Golden State assert their dominance as the best legion in the country, if not ever. Yet this dominance demands its price. Captain Wardell Stephen Curry learns this the hard way as he is confronted with the decision between friendship and command, love and duty. As the temporary leader of their nation, he receives his worst commission yet, one whose price he quickly learns he is not willing to pay. Yet open disobedience means his certain death. How much is he willing to sacrifice?
