Fics like i am being trapped by the past

Forrest Nash was a practical man for as long as he remembered. He wasn’t overly optimistic, but he wasn’t what one would call a debbie downer either. He liked to think he was realistic. He was a popular radio host, with millions of listeners, until one day he’d been brought to the small town of Gallows Creek, with a population of about 1000. Little, but it was whatever, he could do his own thing. He didn’t need to grow to be a bitter man, he could take it. He’d gotten a job at KFAM (well, the only radio station), hosting a show together with Peggy, at 189.16. ‘The Scream’. It was fine, overall. A little bit iffy, but he was a city guy, not much that could be done there. Until one day, he’d gotten a call from the 911 operator, Leslie Harper. -- OR, basically a summary of the events of Killer Frequency, mainly just Forrest's thoughts and more panic (because it felt like there was no actual incentive to be fast while searching but if there were itd be so much harder so..)
