Something moves him at that moment. Of all things that could have happened, it led him here, with this wonderful man he doesn’t deserve making him breakfast. “Thank you,” Cellbit says. His voice is hoarse, he hadn’t realized it was the first time he spoke this morning. “For rescuing me. For being there. For choosing me.” My hero, he adds silently. “Idiot,” Roier replies. He turns his head to hide that he’s blushing furiously, but Cellbit can read his body language. He understands Roier better than he understands himself. “Don’t thank me for that. It’s not-” “But it is.” “It’s what a husband does. In sickness and in health, no?” They’re not even married yet. Still, Cellbit knows Roier will be the best husband. His sensibilities would have been wasted on most of the men on the server. They couldn’t possibly understand him like Cellbit does. Wouldn’t treasure him. Wouldn’t give him what he truly wants. Because what Roier wants is to be needed. And Cellbit is just enough of a train wreck to be able to give him that. - Or: a soft morning after Cellbit's rescue from the Federation. (technically a sequel to "I find safety in your arms" but can be read as a stand-alone!)
