Fics like I Used To Be An Only Son

It was Dumbledore that gave Monty his wand. The one that had the same flock of phoenix feathers that Voldemort’s had. Dumbledore had been very clear on what this all meant when Monty was barely eleven years old, candles melting on his birthday cake in just the room over with his friends and family. “You, my boy, are fated to be great. With this wand you will defeat Voldemort just as I’ve always said you would and everything will fall in its place.” Everything will fall in its place. It was all Monty had ever wanted. For the war to be over, to be declared a hero, and to rule the Wizarding World with a determined smile. And Dumbledore, the greatest wizard since Merlin, had told him that not only was it possible, but it was fated. So what did it mean that his holly wand didn’t feel as right as Harry’s hawthorn and unicorn hair wand did?
