Fics like I place my life in your hands.

Damien vows is to find his own way and scrape and claw his way into a good position by his father's side. He has not been offered any protection by anyone of high ranking or even his father so it is clear that he must earn his place on his own. He scrapes and moves trying to adjust to the strange rules outside the league until one day everything changes and he is once again offered the privilege of protection, like he once had in the league. Drake saves his life when they are out in civilian clothes and tries to protect him even when he is injured. Damian does not understand how he came to earn this honor but he will not waste this chance. Finally something makes sense. He will swear loyalty and flourish as is expected of him in return for such protection. AKA Damian is severely confused by the ways of his father and his family, Tim saves Damien from getting shot and Damian swears loyalty to him. The entire bat family including Tim is very confused on what the heck just happened!?
