Fics like bury my heart in the coals (and hold me still)

“I love you,” Klaus whispers, voice reverent. “I love you, I love you, I love you.” Dave should feel guilty. He should. He knows that. Because he may love Klaus, but he’s still tricking him. He’s still working for the Commission. He’s still- Oh. Oh. Oh, fuck. And in one single, catastrophizing moment, Dave realizes two things. One; he can never, ever go back to the Commission. Two; he is hopelessly, ridiculously, terrifyingly in love with Klaus Hargreeves. *** Or, what would happen if Commission Agent David Katz was sent to be Vanya’s Harold Jenkins, but shifted his target to Klaus instead. Somewhere along the line, his heart starts outweighing his duty, and he falls head over heels in love with his target.
