Fics like Stroopwafels

Or, Five (5) Times Kaz Asked Wylan to Make a Bomb and How This Resulted in Wylan Obtaining One (1) Boyfriend * Wylan knew all too well how to play with fire—as a chemist, as a tanner’s apprentice, as his father’s son, he had to be familiar with it—but this was a new kind of risk, leaving his heart exposed on the damp cobblestones to be stomped on. It was idiotic, he knew, to intentionally let himself be wounded in the Barrel. Things tended to get infected here, and people preyed on weakness like sharks. But he had been alone, been lonely, for so many years, long before he’d emerged from a freezing canal and found himself at the bottom of the Barrel. He needed this, and even if it was going to burn him, even if it was a poorly constructed bomb just waiting to implode, Wylan found that he didn’t much care. At least he’d have been warm and wanted for one night in his miserable, saintsforsaken life.
