Fics like say a solemn prayer, place a poppy in my hair (there's no morning glory, it was war, it wasn't fair)

Within one hour of his child arriving at Hogwarts, Draco's letters started coming to Malfoy Manor, & they painted an entirely different portrait of the status of things at the school than the Headmaster has given to the Board of Governors. When Lucius reads the latest letter about philosophers stones, Hagrid's inappropriate pets in third floor corridors, & an abused Harry Potter, he decides to take action. The Potter boy is all too willing to go into his custody & allow him to handle the Muggles. The Dursleys are a ghastly sort, who don't even need to be bribed to give away their nephew, or Albus' secret plans regarding their ward. When Lucius is presented to the Mudb...er Muggleborn whom Harry deemed his best friend's parents, he is unamused to discover that HE is being used as a scapegoat against parental communication regarding the worrisome events in the school. With the Dark Lord dead, Lucius makes a decision: to side with the angry Drs. Grangers & convince Cornelius that they support supposedly needed reform. After all, Malfoys play to win.
