After enduring more than her fair share of heartache, Lydia Stewart had hoped fate’s cruelty was done with her. The rural outdoorswoman’s life had been rooted in the sub-arctic forests of Alaska and the traditions that had been left to her by the generations before her. However, the loss of her grandmother made it impossible for her to find solace in the familiar land of her ancestors, and unable to find refuge at home, the raven haired woman sought to mend her grieving heart in unfamiliar lands. Lydia’s work as a wildland firefighter found her traveling from Alaska to Georgia, where amidst the heat and chaos of flames she briefly crossed paths with a man whose stormy eyes and brooding demeanor left a fleeting mark on her. Weeks of digging, chopping, and carrying the southern land on her back fortified the northerner, and she emerged from the forest to find a world unravelling. Fate twisted once more and enter Daryl Duane Dixon, broodier than ever and sporting a self-induced arrow wound. Together, they had no choice but to navigate the ruins of a world that they no longer recognized, bound by fate and fortified by the unexpected strength that they found in each other.
